This past Saturday night our members & survivors headed downtown for the Jacksonville Shark’s arena football game! Although it was over 90 degrees outside, we quickly found out the Sharks were celebrating ‘Christmas in July’ with fans dressed in their green and red, Santa hats, and ugliest holiday sweaters.
Our group carpooled to the stadium where we met up with two new members – Nick and Brad. It was great to welcome a few new guys to the LFT group and what wonderful young men they are!
Thanks to the Money Pages, we enjoyed a beautiful private box which was donated to us for the evening. Brad and his girlfriend, Sydney, were first to arrive and took a cool video of the suite before everyone arrived (see link below).

We all made a beeline for the amazing spread of food that was provided including a variety of homemade potato chips with balsamic goat cheese, sour cream and chive, and spicy cajun horseradish. The veggie, chicken and club wraps were a big hit and we finished it off with soda, tea and water.
Once the game started, the LFT members and survivors cheered on the four-time South Division Arena Football Champions, the Jacksonville Sharks, who put on a great show!
The funniest part of the event was when we realized that the AC in the box was set to 67 degrees and we couldn’t change it so we all bundled up. Ironically, it really felt like ‘Christmas in July’ and we all got a huge laugh about it.
The night ended on a high note when the Sharks won the last game of their season!
We would sincerely like to thank everyone at Money Pages and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena for making this group event possible and so much fun! We’ve got another group event coming up soon, so follow us on our social media channels for the latest updates!
