Lights! Camera! Action! Live for Today members dressed to the nines and walked the red carpet at Hollywood Nights, the Second Annual Prom. The fundraising event is held at Nocatee Crosswater Hall by the Apryle Showers Foundation, a Jacksonville nonprofit focused on providing hope healing, restoration, and peace to adults 30-55 undergoing cancer treatment. Many of our Live For Today members missed their prom due to treatment, so Live For Today is thrilled to provide them an opportunity to celebrate! Additionally, many of the members will eventually age out our program and find support in the Apryle Showers Foundation.
Even though we are two separate organizations, it doesn’t mean we don’t get together to party! The prom is meant to celebrate survivorship, and together, we enjoyed a glamourous night that began with walking the red carpet, interviewing with the hosts and a friendly photoshoot by the paparazzi. Live for Today members dressed like the Hollywood elite, and with their guest, enjoyed delicious food from Taco Lu, Cinnoti’s bakery, and other local restaurants. While sipping a cocktail, the members participated in a silent auction, and then cut loose on the dance floor. A local favorite, the Briteside Band rocked the night away, and by the evening’s end Live For Today’s members felt like the stars they truly are.
