With the awesome success of our Jaguar’s tailgate and game day experience last year, the LFT group had been anxiously awaiting a repeat group event. So, we planned to go back for a great game in early December and were feeling really excited the weekend before our event was scheduled with the gorgeous weather and sunny blue skies. Even if our home team couldn’t pull off a win, we felt pretty confident that everyone would have a great time again.
However, when we all woke up on Sunday, December 7th, the weather was definitely not cooperating. Even worse, the unusually cold and overcast morning seemed to grow colder somehow as the day progressed. When our group met up outside of Everbank Stadium for a Live For Today tailgate before we headed in to cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars, everyone had piled on the blankets, hats, scarves and hoodies! Except for Maja who mistakenly wore shorts…
After the initial shock of cold, the gloomy weather didn’t slow anyone down from having a great time playing corn hole, enjoying delicious BBQ or catching up with friends. Our group was lucky to have a few awesome spots donated for us to use, right in front of the stadium, where we set up camp for the afternoon.
After huddling together for an epic group picture, we all headed into the game – excited and anticipating a great Jaguar experience!
Sadly, we had only made it through the first quarter when the rain started pouring buckets!!! What a bummer… we decided it was best to head out then, not wanting to get sick and sit in the rain. But first, Alex wanted to make a stop for food. An order of chicken fingers and fries later, we hit the road.
Despite the weather, we were all happy that we got to hang out at the tailgate and catch up. Even better, the group is already asking to do this group event again next year… Let’s just hope we have a little better luck with the forecast!
